Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Oregon
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Oregon. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Oregon|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Oregon. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to US.

Does not meet GNG and entirely relies on a single primary source. Another article of the same defunct radio station exist WMIC (1590 AM), WOSL (Florida). I think they should be deleted or merged as a list of defunct radio stations in America. Uncle Bash007 (talk) 14:42, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

- Comment A better merge source might be the media section of Pendleton, Oregon and/or the "Defunct" section of List of radio stations in Oregon. A list of defunct stations is likely a random collection of information. Note that having a single source is not in itself a deletion criterion. I've added a bit but am not claiming the article now passes WP:GNG. This isn't an official guideline but WP:NMEDIA might be instructive. Note to all at AfD: Could we pretty please link to the guidelines we are referencing, such as "GNG", in the nomination? Thanks! Valfontis (talk) 17:58, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
- Redirect to state list The main problem is that PoppysButterflies is putting pages into mainspace too early across the board. Unfortunately, while Newspapers.com just added the Pendleton paper, it is right now missing from 1947 to 1964. These should be list redirects until more sourcing can be built, but the half-baked two-sentence stub will not cut it. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 02:02, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- It's 5 sentences, haha. Anyway, it looks like oregonnews.uoregon.edu (free!) is also missing those years of the East Oregonian but it might have other papers that newspapers.com doesn't have. Again, lacking sources is not a deletion criterion. And WP:BEFORE is a good guideline, especially section D. I'm not going to go to a whole lot more effort to flesh this article out but I will note that one of the problems with media sources are they often aren't covered in other media sources. - Comment. There is a good chance that the article was created by the subject herself (username "webchick", which is also the name of the subject's website). Not that makes any difference as far as notability is concerned. Aŭstriano (talk) 08:18, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete fails WP:ARTIST. The article has been around since 2005. Significant contributions by COI editors. I am not finding any reliable sourcing to bring this article up to notable standards. --WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 23:02, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete - I'm not finding anything in a BEFORE search to substantiate the notability of this artist/designer. What was found were social media posts, a LinkedIn profile, her Flickr feed, a Kickstarter fundraising request for one of her own projects, a slide-share presentation about her work, and things about her on the Point B Studio website - she "founded" Point B Studio which is her own design studio. All of which is self-promotion. What is absent are reviews of her work, significant awards, notable exhibitions , collections in notable museums or national galleries. Fails WP:NARTIST and WP:GNG. Netherzone (talk) 23:53, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete - Couldn't find anything on this person that would contribute to WP:GNG or WP:NARTIST. nf utvol (talk) 01:45, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- Comment I tried to PROD this COI article in 2007 and the author herself tried to blank the page twice. After that there was an attempt to speedy it, and then there was a malformed AfD in 2021. Maybe this AfD can put things to rest, finally. Valfontis (talk) 17:17, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete - this article may have dodged 3 deletion attempts, but with continued WP:GNG problems, it shouldn't escape a forth, which is rarely seen here on Wikipedia. ロドリゲス恭子 (talk) 20:29, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
