Doesn’t expand on content already covered in the google search article and mostly unnecessary content ProtobowlAddict talk! 22:54, 11 April 2025 (UTC)

- Keep There's content in this article that isn't covered in Google Search, such as the lawsuit from Chegg, Google implementing link placement prioritization measures, and info about the AI's functionality (though that section isn't sourced). Opm581 (talk | he/him) 08:21, 12 April 2025 (UTC)

- Delete. Seems to be to market a feature Usgy928 (talk 14:04, 15 April 2025 (GMT)
- Keep: I think the base google search page is getting bloated and there is reason to have a separate page. Perhaps though the page should be something like AI in Google Search or something like that so it can include the AI Mode as well. There doesn't seem to be any issue from about its notability to be on Wikipedia, just where this information should be located. Moritoriko (talk) 00:35, 18 April 2025 (UTC)

Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Liz Read! Talk! 23:23, 18 April 2025 (UTC) - Keep: Satisfies WP:GNG handily (there is also an in-depth Bloomberg article that hasn't been used yet as a source). As pointed out by Moritoriko, the length of the Google Search article alone is a good reason to cover the details in a separate article per WP:SUMMARY, but there's also a content reason since the AI Overviews feature is not a search engine as usually understood. - Keep. User:InfiniteNexus has asserted that Google Search AI Overviews is a misnomer, in other words, AI Overviews is a distinct and separate product, which is not part of Google Search, and thus needs to be covered separately, in its own standalone article. I'm not sure I agree with that assertion, but, surely, Google's AI large language model product is very significant, and notable. – wbm1058 (talk) 12:40, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

"Longer name" means the name is being abbreviated from the official title, which is longer.
No, that's saying the longer common name is wrong. There's no rule that common names can't be used. – wbm1058 (talk) 21:34, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
