Speedy deletion nomination of Bel Warriors

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Bel Warriors requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. SS Dixie Arrow Teamwork
Hello, PhoenixCaelestis! I've had some intrest in your SS Dixie Arrow article for sometime. I saw that you want this to become an A-rank article, and I would like to help out - the reason that I asked first is to avoid us steeping on each other's toes. I can serve as the peer review that was requested, as I see some places the article can be improved. GGOTCC (talk) 21:22, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
- That would be much appreciated, thank you! -Emily (PhoenixCaelestis) (talk) 21:30, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
I'll post this on the article's talk page for others as well:
- Running list of helpful information, to be expanded:
- - Before hitting A-grade, this article should meet GA status first. One of the most important aspects regards the sources - as of now, the article heavily relies on websites. Instead, it would be helpful to focus on written texts from Archive.org (search "Dixie Arrow" for texts) for more reliable information.
- - My current mark of shame, User:GGOTCC/sandbox, is an article with a shocking similarity. While the refrence system is shot and is too long, it would be very benificial to see what additional information (ie. on the U-boat, the ship's design, economic context, quotes) can be added to this article. GGOTCC (talk) 22:00, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
- I found a source that is a complete gold mine of information, and through that I've added more information on the sinking and a new section on the ship's service. I'd appreciate it if you could go in and fix errors that are probably present. I'm going to come back to this article this weekend and add more on the ship's service based on that source. Thank you again for being willing to help with this! -Emily (PhoenixCaelestis) (talk) 16:43, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- Sure thing! Thank you for such a great article and being so open to improvement! I'll be making periodic edits to the article, and I also recomend you review Good Article Criteria and a few examples, such as SS West Nohno or SS Irish Oak (1919) for insperation and to see what can qualify for A-rank status. I'll leave my ideas on the article talk page from now on. GGOTCC (talk) 21:23, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- + her sistership SS China Arrow and SS India Arrow are also GA-rank! These would be great references...perhaps one one of us should also work on a article for the entire class? GGOTCC (talk) 21:31, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- Noticed both China and India, haha. I've been using them as a reference where I think I can. There's three other ships listed on the blueprints of Dixie Arrow: Yankee Arrow, Empire (?) Arrow, and Levant Arrow. If specifications can be found on those, then that's further we can add to Dixie Arrow's page. Also, I'm in favor of an idea for a page about the entire class, maybe something along the lines of Big Four (White Star Line) or similar articles, with smaller sections with each ship that links to their main pages when appropriate. -Emily (PhoenixCaelestis) (talk) 23:25, 7 February 2025 (UTC)

To serve Russia
Hello PhoenixCaelestis Is the full text of the lyrics at Draft:To Serve Russia not subject to copyright? You do not indicate its origin, but I think that the author is Ilya Reznik (and music by Eduard Khanok), both of who are still living. If so, I don't think that the text can be hosted on WP. - Davidships (talk) 03:44, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

Question from Missspoongal on User:Missspoongal (02:39, 13 February 2025)
Hello I'm the curator/president of a new museum in Iowa. And would like to add information about this unique museum in Davenport IA --Missspoongal (talk) 02:39, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- I don’t see why not, as long as it’s not a horribly long section on the museum. Is there any news article or something similar you could use to cite the museum or its opening? As long as you can get that, it should be good for the article. You might want to declare a conflict of interest but I’m not sure, since it’s in a pre-existing article and not a new one. I’d mention that you’re the president/curator in your edit summary. Thanks for reaching out! -Emily (PhoenixCaelestis) (talk) 10:55, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
Posledniy geroy (song) moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to Posledniy geroy (song). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:38, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Respectfully, I see no reason why it should have been moved to draft space in the first place. I translated the Russian version of the article, so it should be fine. I'm moving it back to main space. If you have any further problems, please message me first before doing something to my work. Thank you. -Emily (PhoenixCaelestis) (talk) 16:40, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Emily, just fyi that when you're replying to a template message like this, you often have to ping the sender if you want them to notice it, since it's common for editors not to auto-subscribe to template messages.
- Regarding the draftification, you've only got a single source on the article, so that's a very common reason for things to be draftified. Other language wikipedia editions often have really different notability guidelines and enforcement. ru-wiki in particular is full of really unreliable sources that don't meet en-wiki standards, so you have to be pretty careful translating from there even when there are enough sources.
- In this case, given the band in question, I'm almost certain the song meets our notability criteria, but if you could find another source or two to add to the article, that would be a great help and allow us to remove the notability tag. Given that most new page patrollers aren't going to be Soviet post-punk fans, I strongly suspect this article will end up at WP:AFD soon if you don't do this. -- asilvering (talk) 20:11, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

- Thank you, and thank you again for all of your work on it as well. If I end up submitting it for a FA (ideally for March 26, probably 2026), I'll add you as a co-contributor: you helped a ton with the article, thank you again. -Emily (PhoenixCaelestis) (talk) 20:04, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

- Also minor technical thing that’s been bugging me for a bit: There’s supposed to be a break and start a new paragraph in sinking following “ Most of the ship's crew was eating breakfast, and none of them that were on watch saw the torpedoes coming” and its sources, but it either makes it a giant gap or won’t register it at all. Your help with that would be appreciated, haha. -Emily (PhoenixCaelestis) (talk) 20:34, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- I do not see anything wrong on my side. There is a normal paragraph break where you described it. Did you just fix it? GGOTCC (talk) 22:52, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- No, on my end it still shows as being one line. When I go into visual editor, it shows two small arrows pointing down and to the left, but no paragraph break (I already tried
in source). This is driving me absolutely crazy and I find it hard to believe it’d be a client side issue - I’ve checked on two devices now. -Emily (PhoenixCaelestis) (talk) 22:57, 27 February 2025 (UTC)- Okay, I see what you mean. Can you check now? I added the linebreak < br > (without spaces) and that seemed to work. GGOTCC (talk) 23:11, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, seems to be fixed. Thank you! -Emily (PhoenixCaelestis) (talk) 16:44, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for thanks
Thanks for the thanks re the edit I undid on Lent—it's never very enjoyable undoing something that was meant as an improvement.
For what it's worth, the first time I saw something similar I thought it was a formatting error too. I reverted your edit because you'd accidentally deleted a chunk of text and it was the easiest way to restore it.
Maybe you already know this, but in case you don't: if you come across an unfamiliar template and want to know what it is, starting a search with template:
will usually find it. (In this case it was {{Citation needed span}}, which goes around the text it refers to.) Musiconeologist (talk) 21:10, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

- Hello @Pourtigesesquirllatschool41243,
- Please correct me if I am wrong, but it appears you're asking if you're allowed to say that you can read Scottish Gaelic? You absolutely are! As a point of interest, English Wikipedia has many sister projects across languages, including versions in Scottish Gaelic and German. Your account here allows you to edit any language version of Wikipedia, though they are not connected and things like your settings and edit count will not save across languages versions. You can certainly edit all of these language versions if you would like. You can also translate articles from one language into another. Go to the dropdown menu in the top right-hand corner of your screen and select "Translations" to try that out.
- I hope you enjoy your time on this website. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me. I'm on almost every day, so you should get a response within about 12 hours at the most. Welcome to Wikipedia, and happy editing! -Emily (PhoenixCaelestis) (talk) 17:26, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

Njet Molotov wikipage
Good evening, I would like to ask a question about the removal of my edits on the njet molotoff wiki page about the "Russian Versions" of the songs. You removed them because you cited that youtube is not a worthy source of information, yet you kept the Ukrainian version. I belive if the Russian versions are to be removed, so too has the ukranian one, or both should be kept. Thank you for your understanding. DaManegrgeim69 (talk) 01:18, 8 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Jamma101 (06:28, 26 March 2025)
Hi I'm completely new to using Wikipedia any deeper than reading it and searching for it. I'm studying triangle centers and want to define the Parry point in Cartesian coordinates. On the page for Parry point, it says once that the point of intersection between the Parry circle and the circumcircle that isn't the Parry point is the focus of the Kiepert parabola, once that it's a focus of the Kiepert parabola and once that it's a focus of the Kiepert hyperbola. The difference between what all of these mean is subtle, but I hope the inconsistency is clear. I'm wondering how I can correct this. Thanks. --Jamma101 (talk) 06:28, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Atulsanjaysaini on User:Atulsanjaysaini/sandbox (19:08, 31 March 2025)
Delete the unusual things accept the article I wrote --Atulsanjaysaini (talk) 19:08, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @Atulsanjaysaini, and welcome to Wikipedia! Unfortunately, I cannot directly accept your draft. However, I will give you advice to improve your draft and hopefully have it pass review for its next submission:
- Removal of promotional language. This is a major problem I see throughout the article. I'd remove words and phrases like "prolific" (from the lead paragraph), "established himself as a prodigy" (from the segment on Robotics and Academics), and "influential yet anonymous figure" (from the segment on his personal life and legacy). See WP:WTW for more info.
- Lack of references. This was cited in the reason for the decline of the draft by the reviewer. You currently have one source, which appears to be the home page of one of the companies he has created. This does not constitute coverage of him, unfortunately. You make very specific points in your article that are unsourced, and those points will require sources for an approved submission. See WP:Sources and WP:BLPRS.
- Grammar issues. The article doesn't seem to be chock full of these, which is good. You do tend to bold a lot of text. The only thing that should be bolded is the very first instance of the person's name. Numbers should be in cardinal form, not ordinal (ex. 9, not 9th).
- Finally, it's a biography of a living person. This is probably the hardest type of article to get approved. Please read WP:BLP to gain an understanding of this topic.
- In addition to these tips, I do have one question for you. What is your connection to the subject? I noticed the ending of your username is the same as Mr. Saini's surname. If you are being paid to create this article by him or his associates, then you must declare a conflict of interest. You can use the template {{connected contributor}} at the top of the draft's talk page to do this.
- While this article certainly needs some work, I am glad you've decided to join our community. If you need further help, please feel free to use the teahouse or help desk! If you want me to elaborate or explain anything I've said better, feel free to shoot me a message anytime, and I should respond within 48 hours. Again: welcome to Wikipedia! Vandalism/point violation at False or misleading statements by Donald Trump
You say it was a joke nomination, but don't do that. You waste our time. Don't do shit like that. If you want to make jokes on the talk page of some other editor you know, then there would likely be no problem, but don't do such things in article space. I was once blocked as an April Fool's joke, and that block cannot be removed from my block log. That sucks.
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at False or misleading statements by Donald Trump. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you.

Question from Vickyyywu (11:33, 4 April 2025)
Hi! I'm interested in becoming a translator on English Wikipedia. I understand that new users cannot create articles using the Content Translation tool yet, so I want to help by editing existing pages first.
Do I need to edit specific articles, or can I choose topics I’m interested in? What kind of edits are considered helpful contributions if I want to work towards becoming a translator? (For example: translating content from other languages, fixing grammar, adding sources, etc.)
Thank you so much! --Vickyyywu (talk) 11:33, 4 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Vickyyywu, thanks for expressing interest in translating articles!
- You can edit any articles you'd like, and I'd recommend doing those that are in subjects of your interest. In order to gain access to the translation tool, your account will need to extended confirmed: be 30 days old and has made 500 edits. That may seem like a tall task, but it can be done pretty quickly. If you make 10 edits per day, it'll take you a little under two months to complete.
- Personally, I'd recommend checking out these two pages: Articles for deletion and articles for creation. You don't necessarily have to participate, but it would be wise of you to at least watch and see how the process works, what types of articles pass and fail, etc. You also might find this page interesting, it's of articles that have been translated but need some cleaning up to do. You can also do general article editing just to keep yourself in practice.
- When you do become extended confirmed, I implore you to read the various guidelines for the categories that your translations fall into. Different language wikis have different notability guidelines, and it always hurts to see users articles being nominated for deletion or being rejected as a draft. The main notability page can be found here, and it has links to other articles that go into more detail on specific topics.

Question from CooperWhiteEdit (16:42, 5 April 2025)
How do I properly make a citation? --CooperWhiteEdit (talk) 16:42, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Here's how I do it: User:Valjean#A basic citation template I like to use. It conforms to our methods and to professional norms. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 17:08, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @CooperWhiteEdit!
For visual editor, there should be a button in the top of your screen that appears like a quotation mark, ", with rounded edges and a dot in the middle. From there, you can enter the URL and have Wikipedia cite it for you, or press the button to manually enter in the fields yourself.
For source editor, well.. Frankly I don't use it much and can't offer much insight here, though I can give you two useful pages on source citation, which are found here and here. I hope this helps! PhoenixCaelestis · Talk · Contributions 17:08, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
American Communist Party (2024) moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to American Communist Party (2024). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 03:18, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Moved the Elections in Cuba draft to my sandbox
Since you've blanked your sandbox, I've moved the draft for the "Elections in Cuba" article to my sandbox, you can edit there if you're interested. Geo (talk) 18:19, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
