Please add additional material: his degrees and positions, chronologically, with dates. List also his major publications. It does relatively litle service to the encyclopedia to write stub articlesa s incompleteas this.

IEEE Lists

Fistly, thank you for wanting to add to the encyclopaedic content available on Wikipedia. I'm just a little concerned that you're simply reposting information available on the IEEE website without it conforming to our policies on constructing Lists. May I invite you to refer to Wikipedia:LISTPEOPLE to appreciate that List articles should really only contain entries about notable people who already have articles about them here? Whilst a few cited 'redlinks' about people who haven't yet got articles might be ok, you appear set to create dozens of these IEEE sub group list pages containing very few notable people. Whilst I personally value seeing the contributions of scientists rather than petty sportspeople here, I'm not confident your List articles will pass scrutiny per WP:NOTDIRECTORY You may be better simply creating shorter list pages just of those 'notable' Fellows, and simply linking to the IEEE website so users can find all the others. In addition, please rewrite the introductory paragraph to these lists as they currny pinfringe other organisations' copyight. Thank you. Nick Moyes (talk) 14:16, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nick Moyes. Thank you for informing me about this before I created all the lists. :D It is really a lot of work in getting the names of all the fellows, so I would have been bummed if all the lists were deleted after I had created them. I started working these lists because it says here at Wikipedia:Notability (academics) that anybody "who has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association (e.g., a National Academy of Sciences or the Royal Society) or a fellow of a major scholarly society which reserves fellow status as a highly selective honor (e.g., Fellow of the IEEE)" is notable. So it means that every IEEE fellow is notable and deserves to have an article. Having said that, I did feel that most of the IEEE fellows don't have their standalone articles. So what do you propose I should do? I would hate to leave List of IEEE Fellows as is, with all those red links. Should I delete those pages?HRShami (talk) 03:50, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Because I might br wrong, why dont we seek another editor's opinion? Let me sleep on it and I'll have a think who/where best to ask. Nick Moyes (talk) 06:29, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again. My sincere apologies for the long delay in replying. You'll have seen a notification that I have asked another editor here if they would review my comment to you, and offer a second opinion as to the best course of action for you to take. I'm erring on suggesting that you create just one sortable list, naming only those people with articles on Wikipedia, and stating the section they belong to. Thus the list could be sorted by name or section, and new names added as other engineers have article written about them. Thus, I think all those red-linked List pages ought, indeed, to be deleted. But if they have a different view on this, I hope they will let you know directly. (I'm afraid I shalln't be around much for a while to give you further input on this. If you get no reply from Robert (and he does like to be supportive and helpful for page creators) you could ask one of my fellow Hosts at the Teahouse for their opinion. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 02:20, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
User:Nick Moyes, User:HRShami - What is the question? Is it about the IEEE Fellows who are not the subjects of articles? If the issue is whether the red links are appropriate, because red links should only be used for what are thought to be valid future article subjects, then I see no problem with the red links, because (as noted above) being a Fellow of the IEEE is a highly selective honor indicating academic achievement. Did I answer the question, or was there some other question? Robert McClenon (talk) 03:19, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's the question we are discussing. Thank you for answering. I will go ahead and create the pages for these lists. I discussed this with another edits here who is also of the view that IEEE lists of Fellows should be created. HRShami (talk) 03:53, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled

Hi HRShami, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 08:41, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. This feels like an award. :) HRShami (talk) 08:56, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
