History
After the university rejected the first two bids for the job as too high and re-bid the task out: No sources on the accepted bid?
- Did you look at the second ref [11]?
What is an "anemic facility"? effective radiated power of just 944 watts: "Just" implies it was not a lot, which is an opinion.
- Fixed both of these.
KUAT upgraded its service to the northwest side: Is it possible to be more specific?
- The entire paragraph justifies this claim. In Tucson, TV stations generally need two or more transmitters due to terrain considerations. The unique thing about KUAT is theirs is not just a translator but a separate full-service license.
it was exploring the construction: I think "Exploring the possibility of constructing" would be a bit more precise.
There has been progress on the Paul and Alice Baker Center for Public Media project since September 2023.
- Yes. I can't find a projected completion date (I'm guessing late this year), but ground was broken in January 2024. Aded.
Local programming

providing them with valuable hands-on experience: "Valuable" is an opinion, attribute or cut.
Can you give a quick summary of what "The Desert Speaks" and "Phoenix Mars Mission: Ashes to Ice" were about? A bit beyond what you can infer from the titles.
Subchannels
Suggest linking "multiplex"
Initially, four subchannels were broadcast during the day and then closed down to allow the transmission of one high-definition channel: It's unclear whether it means they closed down for one HD channel every night, or whether this was a long term change they made at some point.
this time to a new complementary service known as PBS 6 Plus: What did this service contain?

- Seems like it was broadcast by other stations in 2008 but KUAT aired it in 2007.

File:KUAT logo, 1972-2014.jpg: I think this could be transferred to commons in the public domain, since it doesn't meet the threshold of originality? IAWW (talk) 12:21, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

- @It is a wonderful world Prose changes done. Added two sources to bring the construction project more up to date and fix that Ashes to Ice discrepancy. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 18:28, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

@Sammi Brie, BeanieFan11, AirshipJungleman29, and Theleekycauldron: Reopening the discussion as Theleekycauldron has bumped this hook for DYKINT reasons. Any chance we could come up with another hook or two to replace it? Or reword the existing one to make it more obvious why the fact is novel? Cielquiparle (talk) 07:04, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

- ALT1: ... that an Arizona TV station put a satellite dish in a vacant swimming pool? https://www.newspapers.com/article/tucson-citizen-television-shows-via-sate/105378728/
Ok with me. It sounds pretty novel and there is a sliver of additional detail about the fact within the article. Cielquiparle (talk) 05:38, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- by "vacant swimming pool", do they mean that the pool has been drained or that the pool complex doesn't have any people in it? I assume there wasn't water in the pool... theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 06:06, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

- @Sammi Brie: I'm sorry, I'm still not sure what that means! The pool itself still had water, but it wasn't being used and the satellite dish was off to the side somewhere? theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 07:32, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Theleekycauldron: Source uses "abandoned". I'd be fine with that, too. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 07:45, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- Sammi, I'm not having trouble understanding what the words vacant, disused, or abandoned mean, I'm having trouble understanding what was vacant, disused, or abandoned. The swimming pool itself? How does one put a satellite dish underwater? theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 07:47, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- It looks like it was no longer in use. It had been drained. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 07:48, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
