Chris McKinstry (born February 12, 1967) is the pioneer of public distributed artificial intelligence. He founded the Mindpixel project in July of 2000 which is currently the largest Artificial intelligence project in the world. The Mindpixel project had its roots in the MISTIC project which was launched in May of 1996.
McKinstry is a Canadian citizen born in Winnipeg who presently lives in Toronto.
He is a reformed computer hacker and former Very Large Telescope operator for the European Southern Observatory in Chile.
