Princess Protection Program is an upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie premiereing on Friday, June 26, 2009, directed by Allison Liddi-Brown[1] and starring Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez.[2][3][4][5][6] The movie was shot in its entirely in Puerto Rico in various locations. Local extras were hired for this movie to play students at the school of Selena's character.

Plot

When Princess Rosalina’s (Demi Lovato) country is invaded by an evil dictator, she is put into the Princess Protection Program, a secret organization, funded by royal families, that looks after endangered princesses. She gets taken under the wing of Mason, an agent in the PPP from rural Louisiana, and his daughter Carter (Selena Gomez), an insecure tomboy who works at the local bait shop, and wishes of going to the school dance with her crush Donny, the school hunk. In becoming a normal teenager, Rosalina takes up the name Rosie and very soon she becomes popular at school, which Carter must learn to handle. Although through the ups and downs, the two form a tight bond, with Carter teaching Rosalina to become a normal American girl, and Rosalina helping Carter to find the princess inside herself.[2]

DVD Release

The DVD for "Princess Protection Program" will be available a mere four days after its premiere, entitled "Princess Protection Program: Royal BFF Extended Edition". It will also feature the music video for Lovato & Gomez's duet "One And The Same", a behind-the-scenes look at the movie featuring the teen stars as well as a free BFF necklace set.[9]
