Lockdown 2007 was a professional wrestling pay-per-view from Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. It took place on April 15 2007 at the Family Arena in Saint Charles, Missouri. The tagline for the event was "Every War Ends in the Cage". The promotional poster featured Scott Steiner, Christian Cage, Kurt Angle and Sting. This was the second monthly pay-per-view, after Bound for Glory 2006, to be held outside Orlando, Florida.

Report

Background

TNA President Dixie Carter first made the announcment of TNA coming to the St. Louis area on a radio show on KFNS in January. St. Louis was selected to hold the event because the market had the highest TNA iMPACT! ratings in the country.

Similar to TNA Bound for Glory, a fan interaction event, entitled "TNA Total Nonstop InterAction", took place at a Hilton Hotel in St. Louis on April 14.

The main event was the Lethal Lockdown match, which had taken place at all previous Lockdown events. On the March 15 edition of iMPACT!, TNA Management's Jim Cornette announced that the two teams of five would be lead by Kurt Angle and NWA World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage. Both men were responsible for finding their own teammates.

Later that night, Cage announced A.J. Styles as his first partner. He also announced Abyss as the third member, but Sting, who had been attempting to get Abyss to change his ways, claimed that Abyss doesn't want to be on anybodies team. However, the following week, Abyss's manager, Father James Mitchell, used Abyss's mom to lure him back to Team Cage. Meanwhile, Angle recruted Samoa Joe and |Rhino, two wrestlers who have had issues with Cage in the past.

The next week, Cage officially announced Scott Steiner as the fourth member of Team Cage. He then announced his bodyguard, Tomko, as the fifth member. However, Tomko, whom Cage had promised a championship shot for joining the team, demanded his title match. Shortly after, the other members of Team Cage, who were also promised title shots, also demanded their matches. While they were arguing, Team Angle came out and offered Tomko a spot on their team. A match was made between hand-picked members of each team, with the winner getting to add Tomko to their team. Angle defeated Abyss, but Tomko then attacked Angle and joined Team Cage anyway.

Event

Lockdown began with a 30-minute preshow live from the Family Arena. At the "Black and Blue Carpet Show", Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett arrived alone, as Rhino, Samoa Joe, and Sting had arrived earlier. However, Angle assured that Team Angle was united, despite the comments from everyone else, who made it clear that they didn't trust Jarrett. Inside the arena, TNA Management's Jim Cornette informed Angle that Team Cage would have the numbers advantage for the Lethal Lockdown match because Angle won his match the previous week due to Jeff Jarrett's interference. Meanwhile, Christy Hemme, who had promised to bring another mystery team to take on the Voodoo Kin Mafia, begged Raven to allow Serotonin to be her team. In the end, BG and Kim James easily defeated Havok and Kaz.
