Sterling "Scoot" Henderson (born February 3, 2004) is an American professional basketball player for the NBA G League Ignite of the NBA G League. He was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top point guards in the 2021 class.
High school career
Henderson played basketball for Carlton J. Kell High School in Marietta, Georgia.[1] As a sophomore, he was named Class 5A Player of the Year after leading his team to the state semifinals.[2] He scored a career-high 49 points against Miller Grove High School.[3] As a junior, Henderson averaged 32 points, seven rebounds and six assists per game, helping his team reach the state title game. He earned Class 6A Player of the Year honors.[4]
Recruiting
Henderson was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the highest-ranked point guards in the 2022 class.[5] On May 21, 2021, he announced that he would reclassify to the 2021 class and join the NBA G League Ignite. He turned down college offers from Auburn and Georgia.[6]

Professional career
On May 21, 2021, Henderson signed with the NBA G League Ignite, a developmental team affiliated with the NBA G League.[7] He recorded 31 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals against the Santa Cruz Warriors in just his second pro game.[8]
