Italo Righi

Italo Righi (born 5 June 1959) is a Sammarinese politician who has been serving as Captain Regent alongside Denise Bronzetti since 1 April 2025. He was previously Captain Regent from 1 April 2012 to 1 October 2012, with Maurizio Rattini.

Biography

Italo Righi was born on 5 June 1959 in Sassofeltrio in Italy. He and his parents later moved to San Marino at some point during his childhood. Righi has been working as a driving instructor since 1990. He joined the PDCS in 1985. From 1984 to 1994 he was a member of the council of the municipality of Montegiardino, from 1997 to 2008 he was mayor (Capitano) of Montegiardino. In 2008 he was elected to the Grand and General Council, the parliament of San Marino, on the PDCS list,[1] and in 2012 he was re-elected to parliament.[2] He was a member of the Foreign [3] and Interior Committee.[4] For the period from April 1, 2012 to October 1, 2012, he served as Captains Regent of San Marino alongside Maurizio Rattini. In the legislative period from 2012 to 2016 he was a member of the Consiglio dei XII[5] and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand and General Council.[6]

On 15 March 2025, Righi was announced to become Captains Regent once more, serving alongside Denise Bronzetti from 1 April to 1 October 2025.
