Vasant Dwarkanath Rane was an Indian revolutionary and freedom fighter from the present-day state of Maharashtra.
He was one of the Satyagrahis who participated in the Salt Satyagraha as part of the Civil Disobedience Movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1930. He participated in ‘raid on the Wadala Salt Pans’ and was arrested on 21 May 1930. He was convicted on 5 June 1930. He was charged with section 143 of the I.P.C and sentenced to 3 months of rigorous imprisonment.[1]
Personal Life
He was married to Premabai. They used to stay in Dadar on Hansali Tank Road.[2]
