The British School of Gran Canaria (BSGC) is a private, non-profit British international school located on the island of Gran Canaria, Spain. Established in 1966, the school offers a British-style education to students aged 3 to 18 across two campuses: Tafira in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and South in San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
Overview
BSGC follows the National Curriculum for England, adapted to incorporate local and national expectations. The curriculum is delivered in English, and students in the upper years undertake the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and A-Level examinations, which are recognized internationally and validated independently for university entrance.
The school is accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO) and is a member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS), reflecting its adherence to high standards of British education abroad.
Campuses
BSGC operates two campuses:
- Tafira Campus: Located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, this campus caters to both primary and secondary students.
- South Campus: Situated in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, near Maspalomas, this campus serves primary students.
Together, the campuses accommodate approximately 650 students from over 40 different nationalities, with Spanish nationals comprising the largest group.
