Enemies list

- Enemies List → Nixon's Enemies List (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Although Nixon's enemies list was perhaps the most famous, the general concept is much broader than one person. BD2412 T 01:51, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- My first thought was disambiguation, with the current target and Enemy of the people. When searching for others I discovered that we have many comic book lists along the lines of List of Aquaman enemies, List of Batman family enemies, etc, that all seem to be covered at Lists of villains. I'm not sure whether slightly broadening that page or creating a new disambiguation page at this title, Lists of enemies or Enemies lists and linking them as see-alsos would be better? Thryduulf (talk) 02:04, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Thryduulf: I'd wager that moving List of villains to either Lists of enemies and villians or Lists of villains and enemies would be a good call here, given a synonymous relationship between the words "enemy" and "villain" cannot be assumed. Steel1943 (talk) 23:05, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- I could imagine making it a disambiguation but the term as such—"enemies list", not "list of enemies"—is almost always a direct or indirect allusion to Nixon's. (If anyone wants anything from me beyond this one remark, please ping me: I don't maintain a watchlist on en-wiki.) Jmabel | Talk 02:08, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- I was recently hit up about this on my talk page, and I stand by my original remark. See, for example, https://politicaldictionary.com/words/enemies-list/, https://www.history.com/articles/richard-nixon-enemies-list-who-was-on-it. Question to those who say this term should be treated as more generic: is there any indication of the term being used prior to Nixon? - Jmabel | Talk 17:56, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- Comment. In a good amount of fictional media, the phrase "enemies list" is synonymous with Bestiary. Steel1943 (talk) 22:59, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
Retarget to List of villains (or wherever the aforementioned titled redirects to when this discussion is closed). The article may need to be updated to include the current target of the nominated redirect, but either way, the current material of List of villains seems like the appropriate target for this redirect. Steel1943 (talk) 23:07, 24 March 2025 (UTC)- Totally meh at this point per the comments following this one. Any other comments I've made in this discussion still apply. Steel1943 (talk) 16:23, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Delete, given the varied responses without clear target. Personally, my first thought the enemies list TV trope. The first page of Google search results included Enemies List Home Recording, Kash Patel's enemies list (NYT), Trump's enemies list (Independent), Nixon's Enemies List, and Rick Wilson's The Enemies List podcast. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 00:09, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Given that the podcast is mentioned in Rick Wilson (political consultant), I now do think that there is sufficient content to disambiguate. I would add Rogues' gallery, if that was expanded to touch on the concept in fiction. BD2412 T 02:25, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- delete per the however many different definitions of "enemy". it doesn't necessarily mean "villain" or even "antagonist", and definitions can vary based on extremely fickle variables. for an example i'm pretty sure most people would understand, some could consider king dedede an "enemy", but even ignoring how he's friend-shaped (i will hear no arguments to the contrary), his enmity with kirbo (or with anyone else for that matter) has been a matter of perspective or a misunderstanding at best since the second game. i oppose a dab for the same reason, since then "enemy" could just refer to anything in any context that opposes anything under any perspective we can see something in (give or take this caveat, even) for any reason in any way consarn (prison phone) (crime record) 11:09, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per Significa liberdade and consarn; this term has myriad possible definitions, there is no clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and it's too ambiguous to target any particular article. I suggest that a WP:DAB page is a good idea in the long term, but in the meantime, WP:REDYES and WP:WTAF apply. Carguychris (talk) 14:26, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Delete. An enemies list is a common subject in fiction and real life (as far back as The Mikado's "As someday it may happen"), and thus a redirect to just one of them is counterproductive. -insert valid name here- (talk) 19:37, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Note I've added the capitalised Enemies List redirect to this discussion. Thryduulf (talk) 22:42, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Drafted a list of lists at Draft:Lists of enemies and villains to which I propose retargetting both this redirect and Lists of villains. Thryduulf (talk) 22:42, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- Comment: I would say that Enemies list and Enemies List are separate concepts from List(s) of enemies. As such, I would disagree with redirecting the first two to the latter. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 03:45, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

- I don't understand the separation of "enemies list" and "list of enemies" and consider this dab to be significantly inferior to the one I drafted. Thryduulf (talk) 00:28, 12 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Thryduulf: There are three things in the encyclopedia specifically titled "Enemies list", with or without internal capitalization. I don't think the podcast is a proper subset of a "list of enemies", because despite its name being derived from that, it is not merely a literal listing of enemies. At the least, in your page the podcast should be in the hatnote rather than the body. Otherwise, a disambiguation page should exist (albeit, possibly at Enemies list (disambiguation), with the current redirects pointing to your list as the primary topic). Equus caballus robustus
- Equus caballus robustus → Horse (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Similar to #Equus caballus below this is not mentioned in the target article, or indeed anywhere on Wikipedia. There are enough hits on Google that I'm sure this is a real thing, but almost none of them in English and the ones that are I can't access in full but it seems to me to be an ancestor of modern horses (possibly of Przewalski's horse?). Someone looking to Wikipedia to learn about this isn't going to be helped at all, so it would be better as a redlink until we do have content. Thryduulf (talk) 23:01, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- This was kept when nominated as part of a batch nomination of 48 redirects back in 2015, but other than being noted as a valid species name for a fossil horse it didn't actually get discussed. Thryduulf (talk) 23:06, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

Israeli–Palestinian conflict solutions
- Israeli–Palestinian conflict solutions → Sinai option (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
Sinai option, one of many proposed "Israeli–Palestinian conflict solutions", was created at the redirect title in 2023, and moved recently by @Lionel Messi Lover. Despite the long history, I think this still should not be pointed directly at any one solution, given both the plural and the fact that this elevates this particular proposal (not, I think, a particularly prominent one) above others. I think this should be a disambig page, though if there exists a good overview page that would make a good alterative target as well. Israeli–Palestinian peace process is the closest I've found, but it isn't very well suited in my opinion. Rusalkii (talk) 01:25, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- I agree with the entire nomination. The only other option I've found is List of Middle East peace proposals#Israeli–Palestinian peace process but I consider that inferior to Israeli–Palestinian peace process - not only does it mark that as the main article, but it doesn't include the Sinani option, the Jordanian option and probably others too. We also don't have a single category or template that I've found that lists the various proposals. Thryduulf (talk) 01:57, 24 March 2025 (UTC)

- Delete, implausible search term, no evidence that this is a name. Let the search results do its thing imo. We don't redirect any "kiss episodes" of any television series, to the episode in question, on Wikipedia of all things, where every redirect requires perennial maintenance. A writer with the Associated Press noted in an article that week that the ceremony would not include a kiss by the newlyweds, including the episode as part of an observed trend of portrayals of gay characters while skirting controversy by avoiding or minimizing physical contact.

- Comment: our article lesbian kiss episode lists "The One With Rachel's Big Kiss" (and not "The One With the Lesbian Wedding") as the Friends lesbian kiss episode. "The One With the Lesbian Wedding" does not seem to be a lesbian kiss episode: most obviously it apparently did not actually involve a kiss, but it also was not aired during a sweeps period, it did not involve a presumed heterosexual regular character, and the lesbian relationship wasn't solely for that episode. By contrast "The One With Rachel's Big Kiss" did have a lesbian kiss, did air during a sweeps period, involved an otherwise-heterosexual recurring character whose heterosexuality was reaffirmed by the end of the episode, and the lesbian character was solely introduced for that episode. It seems to me that "The One With Rachel's Big Kiss" is clearly what "Friends lesbian kiss episode" refers to; the question is whether or not this kind of redirect is useful. Poor people's rights
- Poor people's rights → Equality (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
I am not sure if we have a page that this is a natural fit for, but the "Equality" disambig page certainly isn't it. I can imagine a redirect to Economic inequality, as at least much more on topic? But that isn't really talking about rights at all, just the general existence of economic inequality. There's an ACLU handbook of poor people's rights, which isn't mentioned anywhere on wiki. I think the most common use of this phrase is for various social safety net programs? Rusalkii (talk) 23:27, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
- The current target is definitely wrong. I'm wondering whether a set index would be the right fit here? A couple of minutes searching finds Poor People's Alliance, Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign, Poor People's Campaign, Poor People's Movements, Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for a Moral Revival and English Poor Laws which all seem to deal with some aspect of this search term, and I strongly suspect there are more. - Criticisms of electoralism → Election (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
- Criticisms of electoral politics → Election (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: //delete ]
The target doesn't seem to give the reader information about what the titles of these redirects are suggesting. The section Undemocratic contains information about problematic elections in some countries, but not about criticism of (nor sentiment against) the very concept of elections themselves, so retargeting the redirects there may not make them helpful. Anti-electoralism and Criticisms of electoralism could also be retargeted to Electoralism, but that article doesn't say anything about the opposite sentiment nor how "electoralism" has been criticized either, so I suggest deleting all three of them if no better targets can be found. – MrPersonHumanGuy (talk) 18:02, 21 March 2025 (UTC)

Kkaydes
Newly created redirect from a person's name to a general genre of music whose article does not mention this person to provide any context for why he would redirect there. There's an improperly referenced draft about the same person at Draft:Kkaydes, which wouldn't be the least bit approvable in an WP:AFC review in its current state, so this was clearly created as a semi-advertorialized attempt to "get" the person into Wikipedia prematurely -- but he's not entitled to have his name be a redirect to a general overview article about a genre of music, in which he isn't mentioned at all, in advance of passing WP:NMUSIC to qualify for his own BLP. - Delete - My concerns at Deaths in 2024 were that the redirect leads to an article about a music album for which her only contribution was "spoken word" on one track, "Stop!". Other than that, IMDB would supposedly expand on her showbusiness contributions, but represents a source not useable in Wikipedia in terms of reliability. Not notable by a long chalk. By the way, "targets for persons" should only relate to truly notable people - none of us automatically deserves such a thing. Redirect should therefore be removed. Ref (chew)(do) 08:23, 29 March 2025 (UTC)

- I strongly oppose this option. Redirects that include a Wikidata property number are frequently deleted on Wikipedia (example: "Foo (Q123456)" to "Foo"), and doing this is such an unlikely cross-project redirect that it is definitely not what readers are looking for if they are currently on Wikipedia. Not mentioned at target. On-wiki search does return a bunch of mentions in articles related to Final Fantasy, though whether this should be retargeted (and if yes, to which of the articles) should probably be left to someone familiar with the franchise. 1234qwer1234qwer4 00:38, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
- Comment: The articles that mention "Ramuh" which are not associated with Final Fantasy are Adaptations of Little Red Riding Hood and Disco Fries. Steel1943 (talk) 01:12, 13 April 2025 (UTC)

No mention at target, on-wiki search results are unrelated passing uses, and web search returns fashion-related results. 1234qwer1234qwer4 00:32, 13 April 2025 (UTC)

Moontube
No mention anywhere on the English Wikipedia. Created with the edit summary Internet nickname for the site
but a web search seems to bring up unrelated results. 1234qwer1234qwer4 00:25, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
- This is anecdotal and probably not admissible as grounds for keeping the redirect, but the logic behind this nickname stems from Japanese being called moonrunes in some internet communities, thus the Japanese equivalent to YouTube being called Moontube. _dk (talk) 00:47, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
- Comment this comes from Japan being the "moon", where they use "moonspeak", and Niconico being Japanese equivalent of YouTube -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 07:36, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
- Comment I would think this should more likely refer to a lunar lava tube -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 07:36, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
