Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Unfortunately, content you added to Barry Fell appears to be a minority or fringe viewpoint, and appears to have given undue weight to this minority viewpoint, and has been reverted. To maintain a neutral point of view, an idea that is not broadly supported by scholarship in its field must not be given undue weight in an article about a mainstream idea. Feel free to use the article's talk page to discuss this, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Flint Dibble. Thank you. Doug Weller talk 20:45, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Doug,
Respectfully this article is biased and out of frustration I am trying to, in the absolute worst way apparently, even the scales and present a well rounded and unbiased piece of information that adds to the goal of the website which is to educate, not to present a slanted perspective in order to authorize some and negate others. Flint Dibble unanimously lost the debate and repeatedly made false claims and used straw man mind games instead of honestly discoursing with two people. Is it not his duty to present the truth? why are we unfairly presenting the facts here? will politics and social faux pas take precedence over the scientific dialectic ideal? I would like to invite you to join me for a conversation on my you tube channel to discuss the edits that I have made? I admit my references are poor and will not do this in the future without references to back up my edits.

Nope. My experience is that arguing with people who ignore the physical evidence is that discussion is pointless l Doug Weller talk 18:13, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would not like to argue. I. would like to understand your position so I can better follow the rules on Wikipedia. As for physical evidence, flint dibble is not basing his arguments on physical evidence he is basing it on social conjecture and misappropriation. I strongly recommend you reconsider having a conversation with me. It will surely benefit the two of us. 2600:1000:B141:9861:19EA:8206:C40D:BB04 (talk) 20:46, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And this appears to be based entirely on... your personal opinion? Rebuffing people like you who use Wikipedia as a repository of their unsourced personal opinion is one of the most annoying ways valuable contributors (which you definitely are not) have to waste their time on. I would suggest finding something better to do with your life. Hemiauchenia (talk) 21:42, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Contentious topics alert for biographies of living persons

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
