A lengthy welcome

Hi Mint Keyphase. Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.

If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 20:29, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wildlife Drones, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mapping software. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The Monkees

Hi there. Just so you know, the personnel section at The Monkees was laid out and sourced properly, as per MOS:ALBUM, specifically WP:PERSONNEL. It states, In some instances, an album will have a wide variety of performers from track to track. In these cases, it is helpful to list which tracks feature which performers. This can be done in one of two ways: by listing the track's name and then giving a list of performers, or by providing a single list of performers which notes parenthetically which tracks feature this artist. Thanks.—The Keymaster (talk) 07:30, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

However, is it necessary to separate lead vocal, harmony vocal, backing vocal, and vocal vocal? I think just grouping it under "vocals" would work. —Mint Keyphase (Did I mess up? What have I done?) 07:36, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I laid it out exactly as it was in the liner notes. I'm a very active editor in WT:ALBUMS and have edited hundreds of pages in a similar manner. You may have a point about the redundancy of the different vocal credits, but this is exactly the way they were listed by the band's historian Andrew Sandoval in the most current edition of the album, for some reason (which is cited there with a ref). If you want, you can always start a discussion about this at the WT:ALBUMS page and try to solicit more editors' opinions on it. I'm going to go ahead and restore the edit for now. Cheers. I'll just self-revert for you. —Mint Keyphase (Did I mess up? What have I done?) 07:48, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
nvm. you've done so already. —Mint Keyphase (Did I mess up? What have I done?) 07:50, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. Sorry. I'm new here too (I created this account on Jan. 26, 2025), and I thought I was looking at disruptive editing. Next time I'll try to be more mindful. Keep editing!

Hindley Street Country Club

I don't believe for Hindley Street Country Club, the achievement of 3 quarters of a billion views is "in excessive detail". This is the reason they are famous. One of the two founders leaving the band is also significant. Please cease removing cited material. V260z (talk) 04:26, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No, we do not simply remove the name of an individual from the history of a group just because they have left. As for the 3 quarter billion views claim, I will restore it after I check the source.Mint Keyphase (Did I mess up? What have I done?) 01:57, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, youtube videos are not reliable sources. —Mint Keyphase (Did I mess up? What have I done?) 02:04, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Social blade was the resource, not Youtube... https://socialblade.com/youtube/channel/UCPbEcJyVcETaWrubYOg4UTw
Current count is at 777,289,165
You also have misunderstood. I was not removing a founding member's name, I had added the date when he left the band.
It appears AlphaLemur has since fixed your edits anyway.
So, no need to debate this anymore. V260z (talk) 14:09, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
