Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Debbie Matzkin

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Debbie Matzkin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 11:30, 29 April 2025 (UTC)

I am not being paid for my contributions, and I will fully comply with Wikipedia’s paid editing disclosure rules if that changes in the future. Can you clarify? Above you have said "I am not being paid for my contributions", but you created a draft which included the statement "In accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, I disclose that I have been paid by my employer for my contributions to this article", and a user page which says "This user, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by LAX Studio on behalf of Name of your client, if different from your employer [sic] for their contributions to Wikipedia" JBW (talk) 09:56, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi sorry, please disregard that. I'll clarify. I am working for a company and am building a wiki page for a client. It is not to be promotional. It is soley for the client to have a wiki page about themselves, their lives, and career. Please unblock and I'll change the username. LAX Studio (talk) 12:32, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- Regardless of what username you choose, you are a paid editor when you are editing articles on behalf of a client. It does not matter whether or not you are being paid specifically to edit Wikipedia. Your employment and relationship with the client is, by itself, sufficient to trigger the paid editing disclosure policy and its mandatory requirements. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:37, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- I would also note that the main purpose of a Wikipedia article is not for the subject(or their representative) to tell about their life and career. A Wikipedia article about a person should summarize what independent reliable sources have already said about the person and show how they are a notable person. An article is not for the benefit of the subject in any way. There may be benefits, but those are on the side and not our goal. There are,in fact, good reasons to not want an article about one's self. 331dot (talk) 15:49, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, I see. How do you suggest I successfully publish this article about Debbie Matzkin? Is it doable? 2A0D:6FC0:74F:2400:4039:1D38:2AA1:F18A (talk) 10:25, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Remember to log in. The mistake you- and many others in your position- are making is that you want to tell us what Debbie Matzkin wants us to know about her(or what you want us to know about her). That's not what Wikipedia is interested in, we are not interested in what someone wants to say about themselves. Wikipedia is interested in what others wholly unconnected with a topic choose on their own(not based on materials from the subject) to say about it, showing how it is notable as Wikipedia uses the word. In this case, that would be a notable person or more narrowly a notable author.
- Writing a new article is the most difficult task to attempt on Wikipedia even without a paid relationship/conflict of interest, it's even harder with one. For you to succeed at writing about your client, you would need to set aside everything you know about her, everything she has told you, all materials she has put out(including interviews), brief mentions- and only summarize what independent reliable sources have chosen to say about her. That is usually very, very difficult for people in your position to do. It does happen, but it is rare. I haven't searched for sources about her so I can't tell you if she merits a Wikipedia article, but I can tell you that what you did write wasn't an acceptable article. If she does merit an article, quite frankly, you're probably not the best person to write it and both you and her should go on about your careers as if you had never heard of Wikipedia, and allow an article to organically develop the usual way(through an independent editor taking note of coverage of a topic in independent sources and choosing to write about it). Trying to force the issue is, as I've indicated, possible to work but unlikely.
- I would show Debbie Matzkin this conversation and WP:PROUD.
- All of that said, is there anything you want to edit other than topics for which you have a conflict of interest/paid relationship? 331dot (talk) 10:45, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- How can I delete this account? Is it already deleted? LAX Studio (talk) 05:43, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- There is no ability to delete accounts, as legally all edits must be attributable to someone. If you no longer wish to participate here, please indicate that and then just abandon your account. Please know that if you change your mind later, you will still need to request unblock under this account, as you personally are blocked, not just your account. 331dot (talk) 07:48, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, how do I unblock? LAX Studio (talk) 09:13, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- You can answer my question above(at the end of my longer May 4th post) to start. 331dot (talk) 09:18, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
