@Left guide: I was simply going to point you to WP:ITNQUALITY, but that seems a bit dated. I think regular reviewers generally expect each section to be sourced (e.g. the stats section), and at least one citation for each paragraph. So with your baseball hall of fame TfDs, it made me think of other minor league award stuff hanging out on the project, specifically the article entries at {{NBA G League Awards}}. Many are sourced only to nba.com which obviously isn't an independent source. I question whether most of those awards even meet WP:GNG. @Left guide: With all the NBA stans, perhaps do a WP:BEFORE and then nominate a single "sure-fire" one first. • May I ask for an assessment of OurSports Central? It's the only source making me second guess notability-tagging a couple of those awards. See for example NBA G League Team Executive of the Year Award#References. However, if they only regurgitate league and team press releases, that seems unhelpful in establishing notability, but it'd be nice to be assured I'm not missing something. All of the cited publications I checked carry a disclaimer: The opinions expressed in this release are those of the organization issuing it, and do not necessarily reflect the thoughts or opinions of OurSports Central or its staff.   No, but upon reflection it's not that outlandish, since it seems like most G-League players would pass WP:NBIO regardless. The only potential problem I see is that it can be interpreted as including things like Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award, which is an award that doesn't seem to be selective for a high level of notability. How useful/enforceable is WP:NSPORT anyway? I thought I read some talk somewhere of it being potentially scrapped. Maybe it was from you or someone else, can't remember. @GOAT Bones231012: Hi. At least put a pause on adding to more infoboxes, as Left guide suggested at WT:NBA. I dont know if you have access to something like WP:NEWSPAPERS.COM—it'd be reassuring to show that these awards got mainstream coverage back in the day (though I would assume Sports Reference did due diligence). If so, moving it to prose, or starting an elaborate award list in the body might be the way to go. On another note, adding an award that doesnt have its own link to the infobox isnt very helpful for readers not already familiar with it (but it would need to meet WP:LISTN). —Bagumba (talk) 02:18, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

It's something I'd be more inclined to pitch in with every now and then if {{Men's college basketball award navbox}} wasn't so damn long lol; too difficult to easily commit to memory. @Left guide: Rikster2 had a related comment about high school awards at #Discussion around high school honors included in basketball biography infobox above. I don't make regular sweeps. In practice, major college awards at the conference level are generally included (e.g. all-conf, all-D, all-frosh, POY, DPOY, FOY). For HS, McD AA and Parade AA are usually included. @Left guide I think there's a general topic of what HS awards should be displayed, NBA player or not. For HS players like McKenney, I assume it's covered by the main hoops project. I seldom hang out at WT:HOOPS, but checking its archives now, there was WT:WikiProject Basketball/Archive 19#Awards in infobox from Dec. 2023. Earlier this year, a single user created WP:WikiProject Basketball/Players, a style guide which could potentially be filled out to reflect project consensus a la WP:NBASTYLE. @Howard the Duck: MOS:CAPS says: Wikipedia relies on sources to determine what is conventionally capitalized; only words and phrases that are consistently capitalized in a substantial majority of independent, reliable sources are capitalized in Wikipedia. I asked this since I am observing the same for the play-in tournament. Most WP:RS use Title Case to refer to the "NBA Play-In Tournament": CBS, SI, NBC, USA Today, etc. There are some which do not capitalise: CNN, Y!Sports and the Guardian. This may be different for the playoffs, finals and draft. I avoided NBA.com as it's not independent of the source. For some reason, my Google News search didn't show me ESPN articles. @Varoon2542: Thanks for trying to avert the edit war. I often abstain from taking admin action in areas I'm not a subject matter expert, as I might otherwise miss something "obvious". Feel free to make a request at the WP:RPP noticeboard. From what I can see, it looks like a content dispute, and I don't see consensus yet at the talk page. I suggest following Wikipedia:Dispute resolution (perhaps notify related WikiProjects?) Note that an IP users' address might change through no control of their own; IPv6 addresses where the first 16 characters are the same are likely the same user.
