Sam Inwood
Samuel "Sam" Lawrence Inwood (born 17 September 2005) is an English-Northern Irish footballer who plays as a defender for EFL League One club Bolton Wanderers.
Career
Bolton Wanderers
Inwood initially came through the Bury Academy, before he joined Bolton Wanderers at the age of 15 in 2020.[3] He signed his first professional contract with the club on 14 April 2023.[4][5]
Inwood made his Bolton debut on 26 September 2023 in a 8–1 victory against Manchester United U21's in the EFL Trophy, coming on in the 77th minute as a substitute for Randell Williams.[6][7]
On 26 April 2025, Inwood made his league debut for Bolton in a 1–1 draw against Peterborough United, going onto play the full 90 minutes at the Weston Homes Stadium.[8][9] Following his league debut, head coach Steven Schumacher praised Inwood for passing his Sink or Swim debut with flying colours and also confirmed that he had been training with the first team since Schumacher's arrival in late January.[10]
International Career
On 7 March 2025, Inwood was called up to the Northern Ireland U21 squad ahead of matches against Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in Antalya.[11] With his debut coming 13 days later; during a 1–1 draw against Moldova U21.[12][13]
