Summary

Description Jakob circuit ("Papez circuit" has recently been clarified as a misattribution, see article "Papez Circuit". Originally called "the visceral brain" in Christfried Jakob's 1908, 1909, 1911, 1913 and many other publications, the image is intended by its author (2007) as a heuristic model for reviewing the pathways of the visceral brain.
