Arran Dowling-Hussey is an Irish barrister, author, adjudicator, arbitrator, mediator and adjunct professor of law. He was called to the bar in Dublin (2003), in Belfast (2006), London (2007) and Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (2023). He also has rights of audience in the Courts of the Abu Dhabi Global Market ("ADGM") (2020) and at the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Courts (2020). Arran is also based at 4-5 Gray's Inn Square in London.[1][2]
He is the co-author of Arbitration Law (Dublin 2008, 2014, 2018) which has been cited and approved by the Irish Superior Courts.
Works
His practice includes advocacy, drafting statements of case, contractual documents and advising on commercial, chancery, construction, alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and international matters. Arran is a member of a number of London based legal/construction and/or ADR committees like the Society of Construction Law and the Adjudication Society. He was a member of Board of Trustees of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (2017–2024). was appointed to the advisory board of the Gujurat International Maritime Arbitration Centre ("GIMAC") . Arran is an Adjunct Professor at University College Cork's School of Law. He is also a part time lecturer on Robert Gordon University's LL.M in Construction Law & Arbitration a postgraduate degree course which has been recognised as one of the top 5 master's degrees in construction law in the world. Arran regularly sits as the legal chair of Football Association of Ireland ('FAI') disciplinary panels.[1]
