Breu Branco

Breu Branco is a municipality in the state of Pará in the Northern region of Brazil.[2][3][4][5]

In 1793, the Portuguese transferred the Aruã who lived around Chaves on the island Marajó to the village Murú (3°33′40″S 49°36′30″W / 3.56111°S 49.60833°W / -3.56111; -49.60833) on the banks of the Tocantins.[6]
